What are cookies ?

The legislator, in implementation of the provisions contained in Directive 2009/136/EC and subsequently the EU Regulation 2016/679, reconducted the obligation to acquire the prior and informed consent of users to the installation of cookies used for other than purely technical purposes (see Art. 1, para. 5(a) of Leg. May 28, 2012, no. 69, which amended Art. 122 of the Code).
Therefore, two main groups are identified: “technical” cookies and “profiling” cookies.
There are also cookies installed by a party other than the owner/operator of the site (so-called “third parties”).
EU Regulation 679/2016 replaces the previous cookie law (229/2014).
Technical cookies are used only to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service. They are not used for any further purposes.
They can be subdivided as “browsing” or “session”, which allow navigation of the website (e.g., authenticate for restricted areas, make purchases).
Analytics cookies are assimilated to technical cookies, if they are used directly by the operator of the site to collect information, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself; functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of criteria (e.g. language).
Users’ prior consent is not required for the installation of technical cookies, while the obligation to give information pursuant to Art. 13 of the Code.
Third-party analytics cookies
These cookies are used in order to collect information about users’ use of the Site anonymously such as: pages visited, time spent, source traffic origins, geographic origin, age, gender, and interests for the purpose of marketing campaigns. These cookies are sent from third-party domains external to the Site.
The site uses “anonymized” Google Analitics cookies, which are assimilated to technical cookies.
These are the cookies necessary to create user profiles in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user within the pages of the Site.
For these types of cookies, it is necessary for the user to express consent to the processing.
The Site uses technical and non-profiling cookies.
